Now to sum all the lessons up, what is the difference and similarities of the ancient and modern world?

-They depend on nature for medicine and there are few research in the field of medicine.
-Less formal education; Children are usually trained and homeschooled by their parents.
-Legs and bicycles for transportation
-Pure, fresh air, unpolluted nature and surroundings, and clean environment.
-Limited knowledge in academics.
-Lesser population. Live and die due to wars and outbreaks.
-Depended on farm, fishing, and hunting for a living.
-Lesser quantity of buildings
-Pictures are drawn or painted
-little freedom
-People are industrious
-Character is personally practiced.
-Religious and superstitious.
-Life is difficult

Modern World
-Depended on factories for medicines.
-Formal education is required. The "Training up a child in the way he should go" method is endangered.
-Automobiles and vehicles for transportation.
-Polluted air and environment. Mother Nature is endangered.
-Plenty of knowledge in academics.
-People are fruitful in numbers and population increases fast.
-Depended on various types of jobs for financial needs
-Buildings are not rare.
-Pictures are taken one-click away using various gadgets
-95% people are in liberty today.
-People are starting to be lazy.
-Character practice is slowly fading.
-People are materialistic and worldly.
-Life is made easier through latest inventions and discoveries.

Similarities
-Both time period are aggressive and greedy in money, power, and fame.
-Creativity continues to bloom.
-People have the mentality that "With money, you have everything.'

So what now if I know the differences and similarities of both ancient and modern world? It is important to learn the things that we should continue to practice, research, and stop in both time periods.

For example, it is great that everyone can attain formal education, but teaching your children and passing the baton of what you've learned is still important and should be practiced. Superstition from the ancient world should be stopped, but we must not be materialistic too. Continuous research on medication is important, but nature can still be the answer to some diseases. We must also continue to protect Mother Nature and keep our environment from being polluted.

History is recorded so that we may not continue the mistakes we did before and to know our areas for improvement. This is the reason and the root knowledge we must learn from history.

I'll say that the good side of the world today is the blooming creativity of the world produced in various ways. We also have a lot of discoveries that helps life easier than the life before in ancient times. We are all progressing in the area of creativity, technology, academics, work, and so on and so forth. But have you ever looked at the bad side or the decaying side of the world today? Have you ever thought if your purpose and goal in life is part of the good side today? We are all busy with the earthly things and work today that we are slowly forgetting the real goal we must achieve.

We have forgotten that character is of more value than beauty and fame, wisdom than riches and splendor, and a heart and soul dedicated to God than all the earthly riches combined. Parents, have you forgotten that the best inheritance you could ever give to your children is the Godly legacy? Children have you forgotten that to enjoy long life we must honor and obey our parents? Are we forgetting why we are living for? We live not for any earthly goals and achievements but for the eternal destination at the end of the race before us. Were we so focused on the stalls along the way and have forgotten that we are on the race? Wake up, and get into your senses! Know the real reason why we are living here. Think deeper and remember that everything that has a beginning also has an ending. And if we, humans, began living and breathing when we were babies, we also have endings. But aren't you curious what will happen to us when our life ends?

Why are you doing what you are doing? What is your purpose in life?
See? When you try to set earthly achievements as your goals, in the end you will go back to the question, what will happen when my life ends? Will I go somewhere when everything ends? What should be my goal in life?

Hebrews 12:1-3
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

As i said in the previous chapter, (http://ancient-modern.weebly.com/4/post/2013/05/technology-the-discovery-that-is-used-everyday.html), let us fix our eyes on Jesus and set our goals to the prize that will last and will not rot.

Question, what is this prize? The trophy that you will receive from God on the judgement day for finishing the race He has set before us. But of course we must first know where this awarding will happen to go and receive the prize; the location will be on God's Kingdom, Heaven. And to go to Heaven, one must admit that He is a sinner and accept Jesus as his personal lord and savior to enter his heart. Then after you receive the "ticket" to go to Heaven, you shall then produce good merits and receive these awards in heaven. Setting aside the rewards, the best goal ,one could set, is to please the Author of your story and live up the story he has written for you. Just as God has freely given His life to save us from our sins, without any payment from us, so we can also freely give surrender our lives that to Him that saved us.

Going back to the main topic of this article, I want the world's good side today, to be known on people's personal decision to set their purpose and goals in life to the ultimate and eternal goal.

I want to end with this question, "Will your purpose and goals in life be part of the good side of the world today?"

Note: Cartoon strips are made by me through ToonDoo.

Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, most children stories are from the compilation of Grimm' Brothers' Fairytales. The Grimm brothers collected these stories from people who knew them by ear and wrote and compiled these stories.

We all pass messages to each other to communication. We can also pass messages through writing, drawing, stories, actions, and a lot more. But I want to focus on what is the message that you are passing to the world. What is the message that you are passing to the people around you? What do they think of you and how do they know you? The way you dress, talk, act, and make decisions will impact the answer to this question.

What do we, as children of God, must pass? It says here in Mark 16:15
" He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.' "

Now what is the good news?
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Are we passing the message that we are supposed to pass? If people look into our lives, what will they see? Will they see Christ? Check your lifestyle if it is aligned to God's plan.
